Last year, on a hot August day, one of my dear best friends packed a picnic for us. We jumped into my car and drove from Columbia, SC to Charlotte NC. There, among the throngs of hundreds of people, we snacked on sandwiches, cheese, cookies and bottles of water. She even brought us a blanket.
This would be the last concert I would see with her… or at least for now. Nicci, was engaged and her fiance was from my neck of the woods: Portland, OR. As her last send off, dressed in a scarf, and roses in my hair, Nicci with her leather goodness and corset (with matching cat ears) we watched Marilyn Manson and Slipknot at the Pavillion.
I share this story, as Nicci had brought a set of “smores”, which was a prepacked set of crackers, marshmallow fluff and dipping chocolate. We intended to eat these during Manson, just to say we did. But this was my first Manson show (ever I know!!! And after all these years!!!) so I was too excited to pause and ingest anything.
Before the fray of Slipknot, Nicci and I finally dug into the smores, and the guy next to me, over hearing that we failed to have Manson smores, quipped at me: “how are those Slipknot smores working out for you?”
Too this day, as a private memory and joke, Nicci and I call smores: Slipknot Smores.
I was reminded of this while browsing for some DIYs a few nights ago, and if you follow me on Pinterest (which you should) you’ll notice that I blew up my feed with fake food. It all started with this DIY, which came across my feed:
I thought to myself… what a wonderful gift this would make, and it wouldn’t melt.
Then came the terms “eco toys” and “gifts for foodies”. Ingenious idea if I must say so myself.
Here’s a list of my favorites. Be sure to check them out:
